Remembering Peter Bernstein

Peter L. Bernstein passed away on June 5 at the age of 90. Mr. Bernstein eloquently chronicled the birth and evolution of modern financial theory and practice. He made the complex theories and personalities behind these developments accessible and understandable to readers.

We highly recommend his excellent works Capital Ideas: The Improbable Origins of Modern Wall Street (Free Press, 1991), Against the Gods:  The Remarkable Story of Risk (Wiley, 1998), The Power of Gold:  The Story of an Obsession (Wiley, 2001), and Capital Ideas Evolving (Wiley, 2007).
